What began as a simple meeting in 2019 grew into a beautiful journey of friendship,
faith, and unwavering love. Through seasons of growth, laughter, and life’s unexpected turns, their
bond deepened — rooted in trust and guided by God’s grace.
Together they have discovered joy in the everyday, strength in unity, and purpose in walking side
by side. Their love reflects patience, kindness, and the quiet assurance that they were always
meant to find one another.

I knew from the very beginning. There was an ease between us

felt natural, steady, and quietly certain.
In her, I found not only love, but friendship, encouragement, and a partner who
makes every ordinary day feel meaningful. She has a way of bringing calm to my
world and joy to my heart, and I am endlessly grateful that our paths were led
to one another.

I always believed that love would arrive gently, in its own perfect time. With him,
it felt both peaceful and certain — as though our hearts had long known the way
to each other. From the very beginning, he became my safe place, my constant,
and my greatest joy.

He makes me laugh, steadies me in every season, and reminds me daily how deeply

Where They Met
Gustav and Shinique met on an evening that wasn’t supposed to hold any significance in their lives. An open day at Hoërskool Hugenote where they both attended. They night started with smiles here and there, and later turned into the start of a beautiful friendship.
He told her he would wait for her
SAfter months of flirting and talking Gustav finally asked Shinique on a real date. However, it wasn’t their time yet. Shinique moved to the Cape, heartbroken thinking that she would never see him again. But he told her he would wait for her, and kept his promise.
Their first date
A year later, the time finally came! As Shinique moved back, Gustav drove 3 hours to finally ask her out. He spent his entire salary on petrol and a bracelet, because nothing was more important to him.
Overcame every obstacle
Just like many others, Gustav and Shinique soon realised that long distance was harder than they thought. However, through sacrifices their love only grew stronger for each other. Even through Covid, losing friends, sickness and many other obstacles, they always stuck together.
Incredible memories
Over the years, Gustav and Shinique have built some incredible memories together. They love travelling, exploring new places and working together for the future they always dreamed about.
He finally popped the question
After months of planning and waiting, the moment finally arrived. Gustav popped the question in front of a waterfall at the beautiful Botanic Gardens. What began as a simple walk together turned into a moment they will cherish forever. With shaking hands and his heart beating out of his chest, Gustav got down on one knee and asked the question. And of course… she said yes
